CIRCULAR CEILING
DIFFUSERS

The range of circular ceiling diffusers are designed for heating and cooling applications in spaces where the mounting height does not exceed 3 metres. However, it is recommended that the core position is adjusted on change over from the heating cycle to the cooling cycle and vice versa if they are used in a free space application without coanda effect. Consequently, Code 0530, which have a fixed core, should only be used on
cooling applications if they are used on exposed ductwork.

STANDARD •
Code 0530. Multi cone, fixed one position core, circular diffuser. Requires a mounting bridge if it is to be fixed in a non de-mountable, i.e. plaster ceiling and/or it is to be fitted with a damper.
Code 0545. Multi cone, removable two position core, circular diffuser.
Code 0130. Multi cone, removable fully adjustable core, circular diffuser.

STANDARD SPECIFICATION

SIZES
The nominal neck diameters are shown below:-
Code 0530. 160, 200, 250, 315, 355 and 400mm.
Code 0545. 100, 160, 200, 250, 315, 355, 400, 450, 500 and 630mm.
Code 0130. 152, 203, 254, 305, 381, 457 and 534mm.

CONSTRUCTION
Aluminium spinnings supported on steel brackets.
The centre cone of the Code 0130 is spun in brass for additional strength.

FIXING
Codes 0545 and 0130 through the neck of the diffuser into the duct. Code 0530 using a mounting bridge which is fixed in the neck of the duct and a bolt through the centre of the diffuser into a captive nut on the bridge.

FINISHING
Code 0530 and 0545 diffusers are satin anodised AA5. Code 0130 diffusers are powder coated metallic silver (suffix S) or white to RAL 9010 satin (suffix W).

PACKAGING
Each diffuser is individually boxed in a corrugated cardboard box with crush proof ends.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
See pages 60 - 63

OPTIONAL ALTERNATIVES/ADDITIONS

Finishes
Any BS, RAL or NCS colour. Code 0145. Please specify colour
reference. We suggest powder coating on top of anodising for
swimming pool applications. However, this is not possible on the Code 0130 diffuser because the brass centre cone cannot be anodised.

FLAP DAMPERS
Flap or butterfly dampers, Codes 0531, 0141 & 0649 are available for use with these diffusers. Care should be taken to make sure that the type of damper selected is compatible with the diffuser. Details are shown below.

Table of dampners for circular diffusers:

MOUNTING BRIDGE
Code 0535. This is available for fixing a Code 0530 diffuser into
the circular duct so that the diffuser can then be secured by a bolt through the centre of the diffuser into a captive nut in the bridge.
It is essential because the diffuser has a fixed core and, where there
is no access to the ducting i.e. a plaster ceiling and/or a damper is
fitted, it is the only means of fixing the diffuser or adjusting the damper.

ORDERING DETAILS

• The code for the basic diffuser should have 13 digits.
See page 1.
• The last four digits denote the nominal neck diameter.
• Add codes for additions / alternatives as suffixes.

EXAMPLE:
A 200mm nominal diameter neck diffuser with removable two position core, satin anodised, with a flap damper would be coded-0545/00000/0200+0531.

NOISE & PRESSURE DROP CORRECTION FOR DAMPERS ON CIRCULAR DIFFUSERS

6. VOLUME CONTROL DAMPERS
Code 0531, 0141 & 0649

TECHNICAL DATA

The volume control dampers modify the values of sound level and pressure loss given in the selection table.
Hereafter, and in the corresponding graphs sound levels and total pressure losses (?Pt) are presented for the difuser including the volume control damper as a function of the parameters Vt (effective velocity) and position of the damper.

6.a. Damper Codes 0531 & 0141
(position in degrees)

A correction factor should be applied to the sound level as a function of the nominal diameter of the
diffuser according to the following table.

A correction factor should be applied to the sound level as a function of the nominal diameter of the
